Creating Gel Print Backgrounds

The part of card making that I enjoy the most is creating backgrounds. I LOVE gel printing. It’s fun, easy and quick. You can create a dozen prints in minutes. The hardest part is knowing when to stop.

I create cards for friends and family. I don’t make them to sell, so that makes it even easier to just have fun. You need a gel plate, a brayer and acrylic paint. I use inexpensive paints for the most part. I buy some nicer paint to mix in. Using metallic paint will bring some shine to your cards. You can use stamps, stencils leaves, bubble wrap, bottle tops to add interest.

The jar and butterfly were created from gel prints.

This blog is showing what you can do and have fun at the same time. To learn the techniques, there are several people on YouTube that are wonderful teachers. I have watched their videos to learn how create these backgrounds.
